the 4th International Timber Forum "FOREST AND MAN"
September 2-4, 2008
The forum will be held together with the 12th International Branch Exhibition Lesdrevmash'2008 in Moscow International Exhibition Centre Expocentre.
The forum is supported of the Russian Government, basic ministries of the Russian Federation, Russian Chamber of commerce and industry.
General sponsor of the Forum is Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs – Vnesheconombank.
The government of the Russian Federation should accept in Autumn-2008 “Strategy of devel-opment of Russian forest sector for period to 2020”. It should become ‘the road map” for Russian and foreign timber manufacturers, businessmen, investors etc.
One of the purposes of the forum is discussions about the draft of the Strategy together with other actual problems of Russian forest industry – Forest code, role and place of Russia in world forest community, technology and industrial engineering of wood processing, competitiveness increase of domestic wood-based products, geographical distribution of productive capacities, investments etc.
Topic of the Forum is
“Russian forest sector: trends of the development”.
It will be 4 sections:
Business and authorities: partnership for development;
Forest code: problems and problem-solving;
Innovations in forest sector;
Social relations in forest sector.
