Moscow. Dec 24, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Construction of Polyarnyi pulp mill in Amazar (Mogochinskiy municipality, Chita region) started recently, the enterprise said in a release. The project cost makes up around $55 million. Construction is carried out on the site of the former Amazar timber processing mill. Now boiler house and accommodation for the workers are being constructed. The boiler house will have three boilers. Later on, it is planned to build a drying block. Logging and transportation equipment was procured in Khabarovsk.
Cost of equipment for the future enterprise amounted to Eur 3 million. The machines are already delivered in Amazar. After reaching rated capacity the pulp mill will consume 700,000 cubic meters of wood per annum. This will load all harvesting companies of Mogochinsky, Sretenskiy, Tungiro-Olekminsky, Tungokochenskiy, and Chernyshevskiy municipalities. The mill will employ around 10,000 people after reaching full capacity, 8,500 out of them will work on the harvesting sites.
