Moscow. Dec 23, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. U.S. industry consumption of recovered paper was 2.5 million tons in November, a 0.9% increase from last month, and an increase from November 2008 of 0.8%. Compared to the same eleven months of 2008, consumption is down 13.6%, The American Forest & Paper Association said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. The October 2009 U.S. exports of recovered paper stock increased to 1.7 million tons, a 10.0% increase from October 2008, and a 3.1% increase year-to-date. The October 2009 U.S. imports of recovered paper stock rose by 1,081 tons to 36,087 tons, a 3.1% increase from last month. Compared to October 2008, however, imports are down by 41.9%. The American Forest & Paper Association is the national trade association of the forest products industry, representing pulp, paper, and wood products manufacturers, and forest landowners. |
