Moscow. Nov 20, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. U.S. paperboard production increased from September totals by 25,100 tons or 2.3%. Total paperboard production decreased by 6.2% in October, 2009 compared to October, 2008, American Forest & Paper Association said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. Production of unbleached kraft folding saw an increase of 4.3% in production from October 2008. October’s production increased 13.1% over September, 2009. Solid bleached folding production fell from previous year. Current month production decreased 17.1% when compared to October, 2008 but was flat when compared to last month. Solid bleached packaging operated at 85.4% capacity in October, 2009, down 5.7 points from September, 2009, and down 8.9 points from October 2008. Recycled folding rose 5.9% over September 2009 and flat compared to October, 2008 production. Recycled board operated at 88.3% capacity in October, 2009, up from 84.1% in September 2009, and down 2.4 points over October, 2008. The current solid bleached kraft paperboard inventories rose 1.3% when compared to October, 2008 but fell 35,242 tons or 9.7% over last month. |
