U.S.containerboard paper production fell 3.5% in October
Moscow. Nov 20, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. U.S. containerboard paper production fell 3.5% in October compared to October 2008. Total production rose, increasing 100,400 tons or 3.7% when compared to September 2009. This represents a 0.4% daily average increase. The year to date production fell 10.9% compared to 2008, American Forest & Paper Association said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.
While linerboard production fell 1.1% from October, 2008, the current linerboard production rose 3.4% compared to September 2009. Production for exports showed an 18.2% increase over this time last year and 2.6% growth over September 2009. For year to date, production decreased 10.0% over last year.
October medium production was up 33,600 tons or 4.6% from September 2009, but decreased by 9.3% over same month last year. Medium production fell 12.8% for the year to date.
