Moscow. Jun 25, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Grycksbo Paper said that on June 18 it inaugurated a new biofuel boiler at its paper mill in the Swedish province of Dalecarlia, PaperAge reported. At the inauguration, County Governor of Dalarna, Maria Norrfalk, said, “The owners of the mill are clearly demonstrating their commitment to creating a reduced environmental impact though switching to a sustainable energy source.”
Grycksbo invested SEK 130 million on the installation of the new biofuel boiler, which replaces the mill's oil-fed boiler.
“This investment shows that we are committed to our environmental vision. With the new biofuel boiler in operation we have left oil behind as an energy source and our energy requirements are now totally fulfilled through the use of renewable sources,” said Mikael Frolander, managing director of Grycksbo.
“Our aim is to produce our paper in the most environmentally sound way and we work hard to achieve this objective,” Frolander added.
The scope of the project includes the new boiler, equipment to handle the biofuel, and a smoke gas cleaning filter, as well as the renovation of a turbine for the production of green electricity.
Located in Sweden, Grycksbo Paper is the producer of “G-Print” — a unique contour coated woodfree paper. The company has an annual capacity to produce approximately 265,000 tons and employs some 500 people.
