Stora Enso begins construction of $194 mln biofuel plant at its Ostroleka pulpmill
Moscow. Jun 04, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Stora Enso Poland has started construction of a biofuel-fired heat and power plant in Ostroleka, as reported by PMR Ltd.
The facility will cost an estimated Eur 137 million ($194 million) to build. It will generate 250 megawatts of heat and 36 megawatts of electricity, providing 100% of Stora Enso’s heat and 70% of its electricity.
The plant will burn biofuels, including waste created during paper packaging production. It is expected to create 30 new jobs when it is completed in mid-2010.
